Making blood sampling much less of a pain!

Capillary blood sampling is a daily procedure for healthcare professionals. The process has to be quick and easy and should create as little discomfort as possible for the patient.
The Securject system was developed specifically for healthcare professionals, and was designed to meet the highest safety, ease of use and hygiene requirements.

When a Securject lancet is replaced, the integrated platform is also removed. Like this, all parts of the device that were in contact with the patient's skin and blood are replaced every time.
The Securject system has been engineered for safety. Thanks to the automatic ejection of the lancet, Securject Pro protects healthcare professionals from the risk of accidental injuries, or the risk of cross-infection between patients.
Securject Pro uses 8 raised points to apply pressure on the nerve fibres in the fingertips, helping to mask the sensation of pain.
Comfort Zone Technology targets the sensation and perception of pain, providing greater comfort to the patient when taking a blood sample.
Based on the ‘gate theory’ by Melzack and Wall, painful stimuli can be masked by the counter introduction of non-painful stimuli. The activation of the larger nerve fibres by Comfort Zone Technology counters the sensation experienced by the small nerve fibres as the lancet enters the skin.
Pressed against the finger, the eight raised points stimulate sensory nerve endings that are responsible for contact, touch and pressure in the fingertip.
The pressure created by the eight raised points, targets these comfort receptors and sends a powerful message that a nonpainful action is taking place.
Once the pressure is applied by comfort zone technology, the nerves in the skin focus on the eight raised points and continually send a message of comfort to the brain. This allows the lancet needle to penetrate the skin and the pain sensation to be shut out, allowing for a comfortable and virtually pain free blood sample.
